Having been a landmark pub for many years Ye Olde Cherry Tree in Little Oakley, Essex was forced to close in 2005 in mysterious circumstances.

A period of great instability followed under two pub companies with no less than three periods of closure.

The pub is now OPEN AGAIN - thanks to the valiant efforts of the local management who are now direct tenants of the owners - not a pubco in sight!

This site documents the local (and non-local) people's struggles to secure a stable future for their favourite pub.
