The Harwich Consortium is a group of voluntary organisations, public services, local authorities, small, medium and large commercial enterprises and individuals in the Harwich area.

The consortium has the purpose of promoting the economic and environmental well-being of the area in order:

• To create and sustain a thriving local economy
  
• To generate employment
  
• To ensure a pleasant environment in which to live and work.

Membership is open to all who agree with these purposes.

The Consortium has no executive powers and only derives any authority from its constituent bodies.
